Most cherished value, she appeared on the US' earliest official coinage in 1792 and has been synonymous with U. And in recent years, the US mint has released the American liberty series - a program of coins and medals expressly dedicated to commemorating the theme of liberty through the eyes of highly skilled US citizens. This is how the Light of Liberty trilogy was born. Issued under the authority of the nation of Samoa, and with the core objective of bringing these global masters of their craft the chance to design their view of Lady liberty, this trilogy will be like nothing we've ever seen from the U.

And the three designs together is a design of a flying eagle created by legendary 12 Chief Engraver of the U. The first design in the series comes from none other than Susan Taylor, retired, Senior Engraver of the Royal Canadian Mint and mastermind behind the iconic design of the piece.

Her view of liberty is of a strong figure standing on the shore, with a huge US flag planted firmly in the ground to her side, and a raised torch above her. Both her Lady Liberty's reverse, and John Mercanti's flying eagle obverse have been struck in high-relief with a jaw dropping enhanced, reverse proof finish.

Is numbered COA and black storage pouch with Light of Liberty logo. This is a gorgeous piece with superb eye appeal on both sides.

Mintage is just 4,999 coins and coin is struck by a private Scottsdale Mint that strikes coinage for many small countries that want their own coinage.
